Description
Background

Native to Borneo (Sintang region), Bucephalandra pygmaea 'Bukit Kelam' is prized for its wavy leaves with a unique dark green leaves and subtle silvery dots. It spreads via a creeping to ascending rhizome and branches readily, forming attractive clumps.

Placed in the midground or foreground, its unique leaf texture contrasts beautifully with hardscape, expecially driftwood. Excellent in Nature-style, jungle-inspired, or paludarium layouts, especially on wood or rock anchors.

Directions

Attach the plant to hardscape such as driftwood or rocks, allowing the rhizome to be exposed to flowing water. This plant is well-suited for low-tech set ups, but a little higher light will help with colouration of the leaves. A good balance of light and nutrients is important to control algae growth on this plant. To propagate, cut the rhizome with at least three leaves and reattach it to hardscape.
