Description
Background

Ludwigia inclinata var. verticillata 'Curly (Tornado)’ is a distinctive cultivar with twisted, curled leaves that create a spiral appearance along the stem. This growth form makes it visually different from other Ludwigia species. Once established this plant is a true specimen that brings a completely unique aesthetic to the aquarium.

The plant is demanding and sensitive to changes in conditions. Colour ranges from green to red at the tips under strong lighting and CO₂. Growth is moderate and the plant can reach a tall size.

Directions

Plant the stems in small groups to create a bushy effect in the tank. High light, stable CO₂, and consistent fertilisation are essential. This plant is best used as a focal accent rather than a mass planting, as its shape can dominate smaller layouts.

Cut healthy tops and replant, and lower nodes will sprout side shoots readily. Regular topping and replanting maintains bushy form and prevents legginess.
