Description
Background

Rotala macrandra 'Mini type 4' is a rare stem plant of the Rotala macrandra family. It has red and pink rounded leaves which is uncommon for the genus as typical Rotala have long narrow leaves. It grows upwards in a spiral fashion rather than completely vertical .It is best used as a midground or background plant as it can create stunning and colourful backdrops.

'Mini 4' is a tricky plant to grow well. It will survive under non-optimal conditions, however it will experience stunted growth, most notably smaller uncurled leaves instead of open rounded ones. For the plant to thrive, high light and CO2 is recommended along with regular fertilisation.

Directions

Plant the stems in substrate but with enough distance between plants to allow the plant to grow without shading each other. High light, rich and stable nutrients and CO2 will enhance its pink and red tones.

Cut healthy tops and replant, and lower nodes will sprout side shoots. Cutting will also promote more vigorous growth.
