Description
Background

Rotala ramosior 'Florida' is a rare and vibrant cultivar of the North American species Rotala ramosior, noted for its vibrant colouration. When grown under strong light and CO₂, its narrow leaves shift from olive green to vivid pinks and purples. Compared to other Rotala species, it maintains a more upright growth, making it easier to shape into defined bushes.

It is best used as a midground accent or in the background as a colourful bush depending on tank size. Its strong purple hues contrast beautifully against green or golden plants, adding vibrancy to both Nature and Dutch layouts. Perfect for creating focal points or warm-toned colour patches.

Directions

Plant the stems closely with sufficient space between stems. This creates a bushy effect while allowing the plant to grow without shading each other. High light, rich and stable nutrients and CO₂ will enhance the colour tones and plant growth.

To propagate, cut healthy tops and replant, and lower nodes will sprout side shoots.
