Ludwigia palustris 'Super Red' - Plant

Ludwigia palustris 'Super Red' is one of the easiest red stem plant known for its brilliant red colours, even under moderate conditions. Unlike many demanding red plants, this variety is adaptable and beginner-friendly, making it one of the most widely used red accents in aquascaping. Originating from wetlands across the Americas, it shows amazing red colouration even in non CO₂ injected tanks.

It is an ideal plant for creating red highlights against green foliage. Its vibrant hues make it suitable for all aquascape styles.

Plant the stems in small groups to create a bushy effect in the tank. Although this plant shows red colouration under moderate conditions, strong light, stable CO₂ and fertilisation intensify the colouration.

Cut healthy tops and replant, and lower nodes will sprout side shoots readily. Regular topping and replanting maintains bushy form and prevents legginess.
