Description
Background

Ludwigia glandulosa 'Diamond' is a variant of the super popular Ludwigia glandulosa. It is far less common but has a unique colouration, when under high light, its oval shaped leaves turndeep red/purple. Its leaves will range from green, orange or red depending on tank and water parameters. Higher lighting and CO₂ will bring out better colouration in the plant.

It is best used as a mid or background focal plant, where its intense red-purple coloration contrasts beautifully with green or light-coloured species. It is especially suited for Dutch-style layouts, where its upright stems can be grouped for a dramatic color block, or in Nature aquascapes, where it adds depth to the midground.

Directions

Plant the stems in small groups to create a bushy effect in the tank. Weaker light will cause the shaded leaves to shed. Strong light, stable CO₂ and fertilisation promotes healthy, robust and colourful growth.

Cut healthy tops and replant, and lower nodes will sprout side shoots readily. Regular topping and replanting maintains bushy form and prevents legginess.
