Description
Background

Anubias heterophylla ‘Supernova’ is a rare and sought after hybrid Anubias, known for its unique veined and wavy leaves (each leaf is unique). The plant itself is dark green, and grows vertically. It is a tall and large plant typical of the heterophylla group. As it matures, ‘Supernova’ can grow into a substantial specimen, making it ideal as a focal point within the aquarium.

The plant grows from a thick rhizome and should be attached to wood or stone. Growth is slow but steady, and leaves are firm and resistant to damage. Due to its size, it is better suited to medium and larger aquariums. Low to moderate lighting is recommended. CO₂ is not required. Stable conditions and controlled lighting help keep leaves free from algae.

Directions

Attach the plant to hardscape such as driftwood or rocks or plant in substrate, allowing the rhizome to be exposed to flowing water. This plant is well-suited for low-light set ups and does not mind being shaded by other plants. Due to the size of the plant, it can often breach the water surface and grow partially above water.

To propagate, cut the rhizome with at least three leaves, and plant or reattach to hardscape.
