Description
Background

Hygrophila Lancea ‘Araguaia’ is a unique and highly decorative stem plant with narrow leaves and rich colouration, ranging from olive green to deep red and purple tones. Its compact growth habit makes it ideal for foreground placement, where it adds structure and contrast.

Best results are achieved under medium to high lighting with stable CO₂ and regular fertilisation, which enhance colour intensity and leaf shape. With consistent trimming, it develops dense, attractive carpets.

Directions

Plant the stems into the substrate, and it will grow quickly once established . Alternatively, attach the stem onto driftwood or stone to mimic ephiphytic plants. Can be tricky to transition from emersed form. Strong light, stable CO₂, and nitrate limitation will bring out the best colour of this plant.

Cut healthy tops and replant, and lower nodes will sprout side shoots readily.
