Description
Background

Anubias nana ‘Golden’ is a compact and attractive epiphyte plant known for its bright yellow-green leaves. Its vibrant colouration adds contrast and brightness to planted aquariums, making it especially effective when placed against darker hardscape, mosses, or deep green plants.

Compared to standard Anubias nana, the ‘Golden’ variety has much lighter foliage with fresh lime and golden tones. It is very easy to care for and suitable for low-tech aquariums. It tolerates lower lighting and does not require injected CO₂, though stronger lighting and stable fertilisation can improve colour intensity and growth rate. Because of its lighter leaves, it can be slightly more prone to algae if exposed to excessive light without balanced nutrients.

Anubias nana ‘Golden’ is particularly popular in shrimp tanks, nature aquascapes, and low-maintenance aquariums where reliable growth and decorative colour are desired. Its hardy nature and compact size make it one of the easiest ornamental epiphytes to keep successfully.

Directions

Attach Anubias nana ‘Golden’ to rocks, driftwood, or other hardscape using thread or aquarium-safe glue. Keep the rhizome exposed and avoid burying it in substrate to prevent rot. Place the plant in low to medium lighting with gentle water flow. Use regular liquid fertilisers to support healthy leaves and minimise nutrient deficiencies. Remove older or algae-covered leaves as needed and maintain stable water conditions for best long-term results.
