Description
Background

Hygrophila polysperma ‘White’ is a new variegated form of Hygrophila polysperma with white spots on its leaves. Variegated aquatic plants are less common than terrestrial plants, making this plant very unique. It is a fast-growing stem plant and spreads both upwards and outwards. Under stronger lighting, the white variegation becomes more pronounced, making it an excellent focal point in planted aquariums.

It is easy to grow and adapts well to a wide range of water conditions, making it suitable for beginners as well as experienced aquascapers. CO₂ is not required but will enhance growth speed and leaf colouration. Regular trimming encourages bushier growth and allows for easy propagation by replanting cuttings. Ideal for midground or background placement.

Directions

Plant the stems closely together in a bunch. This plant can tolerate overcrowding, therefore it can be planted closer for a bushier effect.

Cut healthy tops and replant, and lower nodes will sprout side shoots readily. This plant requires frequent trimmings due to its fast growth rate, and to prevent shading other plants.
