Description
Background

Nymphaea Micrantha ‘Gefleckt’ is a striking water lily variety recognised for its beautifully spotted green leaves with subtle reddish markings. It grows from a bulb and develops broad leaves that add bold texture and visual interest to planted aquariums. This plant can be maintained as a compact midground specimen by regularly trimming surface leaves, or allowed to grow taller for background placement.

Moderate to high lighting encourages healthy growth and stronger coloration, while CO₂ supplementation is beneficial but not essential. As a heavy root feeder, it thrives in nutrient-rich substrates and responds well to root tabs. Once established, Nymphaea micrantha ‘Gefleckt’ grows steadily and can become a true focal point in aquascapes.

Directions

Plant half of the bulb into the substrate. Avoid burying too deep to avoid bulb rot. Try to choose a permanent placement for the plant, frequent relocation will slow down plant development.

Bright light and CO₂ will enhance its growth and boost the red colouration. Root tabs and good fertilisation will support healthy growth of plant. Baby bulbs will develop around its base, can be separated and replant when the bulb shoots mature. Floating leaves can be trimmed if not desired.
