Description
Background

Blyxa Japonica is a widely popular aquarium plant. Its long bladed leaves make it a perfect plant to blend hardscape and substrate together, and also create depth in the aquarium. Naturally green in colour, however under intense lighting, it will turn red at the tips

Directions

Plant in soil for best results although it will grow in sand as well given there is sufficient fertilisation. It is not a difficult plant, and will grow well in medium light without CO2 injection. Higher lighting will bring out more red colouration to the point where there is very little green left.

Blyxas can be somewhat sensitive during shipping so there may be a transition period, however it will recover very quickly. It will naturally develop daughter plants from its side, creating a larger bushier plant. Daughters can be manually removed and planted.
