Description
Background

Alternanthera reineckii ‘Lilacina’ is a rare plant with pink to lilac tones compared to the deeper reds of the standard reineckii. Its slightly narrower leaves and more compact growth make it particularly suited to midground placements in refined aquascapes.

Under strong lighting and CO₂ injection, ‘Lilacina’ produces vivid pink-purple hues with tight internodes. In moderate setups it may lean towards greenish and lilac tones. As noted by advanced growers, stable fertilisation and controlled nitrate levels are key to enhancing red pigmentation without compromising growth.

Its vivid colour and manageable height make it ideal as a midground plant aquariums.

Directions

Plant the stems in substrate but with enough distance between plants to allow the plant to grow without shading each other. High light, rich and stable nutrients and CO2 will enhance its colour tones and growth.

Cut healthy tops and replant, and lower nodes will sprout side shoots. Cutting will also promote more vigorous growth.
