Description
Background

Alternanthera reineckii ‘Pink’ originates from South America and is valued for its strong colour contrast. Its leaves displays greenish brown top sides and vibrant pink undersides, which intensifies under good light. It is a rather easy red plant to cultivate.

It's brilliant pink underside and bushy growth makes it a perfect contrast for green plants in the midground. Mostly used in Dutch and Nature style tanks where colour grouping or accenting is desired.

Directions

Plant the stems in substrate with sufficient space between stems. Although this plant can be grown in non-CO₂ set ups, strong light, stable CO₂, and adequate nutrients will bring out the best colour of this plant. Trimming the top of the plant will trigger side shoot growth, making the mother plant bushier.
