Description
Background

Anubias barteri 'Broad Leaf' is a large, slow-growing epiphytic plant, and a larger variant to Anubias Barteri. It features wide, thick green leaves that grow from a horizontal rhizome and should be attached to wood or stone rather than planted into substrate.

This plant is valued for its reliability and long-term stability. It is an easy growing plant, which keeps maintenance low and makes it suitable for aquascapes that are designed to remain unchanged for extended periods. The tough leaf structure also makes it a good choice for community aquariums, as it is rarely damaged by fish.

Its leaf form grows significantly larger and is better suited to midground or background placement. It offers more visual mass and works well as a structural plant in nature-style or wood-heavy layouts.

Directions

Attach the plant to hardscape such as driftwood or rocks or plant in substrate, allowing the rhizome to be exposed to flowing water. This plant is well-suited for low-light set ups and does not mind being shaded by other plants.

To propagate, cut the rhizome with at least three leaves and reattach it to hardscape.
