Description
Background

Anubias ‘Chili Jalapeno’ is a rare compact epiphyte with narrow, elongated leaves and a tighter growth habit than standard nana forms. Compared to Anubias nana varieties, it typically has slimmer leaves and a slightly more upright growth pattern. It is well suited to small aquariums, shrimp tanks, and detailed hardscape layouts where space is limited. As with many other small Anubias varieties, this plant is becoming more popular in the hobby.

The plant grows from a rhizome and should be attached to driftwood or stone. Growth is slow and controlled, making it easy to maintain without regular trimming. Leaves are firm and tolerant of a wide range of water parameters, which makes this plant suitable for both beginner and established aquariums.

Directions

Attach the plant to hardscape such as driftwood or rocks or plant in substrate, allowing the rhizome to be exposed to flowing water. This plant is well-suited for low-light set ups and does not mind being shaded by other plants.

To propagate, cut the rhizome with at least three leaves and reattach it to hardscape.
