Description
Background

Anubias gracilis is a hardy Anubias species distinguished by its long, narrow leaves triangular or arrow-shaped leaves. Like other Anubias varieties, it is a rhizome plant, but it tends to grow long vertical branches with leaves reaching the surface.

Its taller leaf structure makes it ideal for midground placement or as a subtle focal plant. Anubias gracilis is also highly tolerant of varying water conditions and resistant to grazing, making it a reliable, long-lasting addition to planted aquariums.

It thrives in low to medium lighting and does not require CO₂, making it well suited to low-tech aquariums and beginner setups. Growth is slow and steady, requiring minimal maintenance.

Directions

Attach the plant to hardscape such as driftwood or rocks, allowing the rhizome to be exposed to flowing water. Alternatively, plant roots into substrate. This plant is well-suited for low-light set ups and does not mind being shaded by other plants.

To propagate, cut the rhizome with at least three leaves and replant into substrate or secure to hardscape. New leaves and roots will begin to develop and grow into a new plant.
