Description
Background

Anubias ‘Petite Golden’ is a miniature Anubias and new variety of the classic Anubias 'Petite'. With bright lime-green to golden leaves and exceptionally compact growth, it makes an excellent addition to any aquarium.

Its small rounded leaves provide a noticeably lighter colour than conventional Anubias, making it particularly useful for creating highlights and contrast against dark wood, stone, and deeper green plants.

Growing from a creeping rhizome, ‘Petite Golden’ gradually develops into tight clusters of small leaves. Its naturally slow and compact growth makes it ideal for detailed hardscape planting, foreground accents and nano aquariums. Mature groups can form attractive cushions over rocks and driftwood without requiring frequent trimming or maintenance.

Like most Anubias, ‘Petite Golden’ is hardy and adaptable, growing successfully under low to moderate lighting without injected CO₂. Moderate lighting can help showcase its bright colour, although excessive light should be avoided as its slow-growing leaves can become susceptible to algae. CO₂ and regular fertilisation are beneficial but not essential.

Directions

Attach the plant to hardscape such as driftwood or rocks, allowing the rhizome to be exposed to flowing water. This plant is well-suited for low-light set ups and does not mind being shaded by other plants. To propagate, cut the rhizome with at least three leaves and reattach it to hardscape.
