Description
Background

Bucephalandra 'Kedagang Red' is a rare epiphyte with long, crinkled colourful leaves that turn bright pink under high light. Newer leaves have vivid tones which slowly transition as the leaf matures. It spreads via a creeping to ascending rhizome and branches readily, forming attractive clumps. Growth is compact and over time, it will form dense carpets.

Placed in the midground or foreground, its unique leaf colour contrasts beautifully with hardscape, especially driftwood. Excellent in Nature-style, jungle-inspired, or paludarium layouts, especially on wood or rock anchors.

Directions

Plant in substrate or attach the plant to hardscape such as driftwood or rocks, allowing the rhizome to be exposed to flowing water. This plant is well-suited for low-tech set ups, but an RGB light will dramatically help to bring out colouration of the leaves. A good balance of light and nutrients is important to control algae growth on this plant.

To propagate, cut the rhizome with at least three leaves replant.
