Description
Background

Cryptocoryne ‘Mini Round’ is a compact and attractive rosette plant known for its small rounded leaves. It is unlike standard Cryptocoryne that have long crinkled leaves. Its unique appearance makes it especially great in detailed aquascapes where shapes and structure are important.

Compared to larger Cryptocoryne species such as Wendtii or Beckettii, ‘Mini Round’ has thicker leaves on the end of elongated stems. It grows more densely so can be used to create a bushy effect.

Like most Cryptocoryne species, ‘Mini Round’ feeds heavily through its roots and performs best in nutrient-rich substrate or with regular root tab supplementation. It grows steadily under stable conditions and adapts well to low-tech aquariums. While CO₂ is not essential, added CO₂ and regular fertilisation can improve growth rate, leaf size, and overall fullness.

Directions

Plant Cryptocoryne ‘Mini Round’ directly into nutrient-rich substrate, ensuring the roots are buried while keeping the crown just above substrate level. Position the plant in the foreground or midground with small gaps between plants to allow spreading. Low to medium lighting is sufficient for healthy growth. CO₂ is optional but beneficial for fuller and faster development.

Supplement with root tabs regularly if using inert substrate and avoid moving the plant once established. Remove melted leaves if necessary and maintain stable water parameters while the plant settles.
