Description
Background

Cryptocoryne parva is a popular foreground aquarium plant native to Sri Lanka. Known as the smallest Cryptocoryne, it develops dense, lawn-like clusters of narrow green leaves. Unlike many crypts, it keeps a consistent bright green coloration under different conditions, making it reliable for aquascaping. Though very slow-growing, with good lighting and CO₂ it eventually forms a low maintenance, attractive low carpet.

Perfect plant to offer natural, grassy foreground carpet. It complements mosses, ferns, and bold red stems. Ideal for nano tanks and planted aquariums seeking a natural look.

Directions

Plant the crypt directly into the substrate. They can be planted closely to form a bush. Cryptocoryne Parva does not melt that much during conversion compared to the other types of crypts. Higher lighting and CO₂ will speed up the growth and enable the plant to form a dense carpet. It is a root feeder, root tabs or rich aquasoil is helpful for its growth. It spreads via runners, spread and replant when a dense clump has formed.
