Cryptocoryne wendtii ‘Green’ is one of the most popular aquarium crypts, native to Sri Lanka. It is appreciated for its compact growth, undulating green leaves, and hardiness. An excellent midground aquarium plant, Cryptocoryne wendtii ‘Green’ provides lush greenery that balances more colourful or fine-textured plants. It fits into nature-style aquascapes, offering a natural, grounded look that softens hardscape lines and creates depth.

Plant directly into the substrate. They can be planted closely to form a bush. Cryptocorynes can go through a melt phase while converting from emerged plant. Roots can be trimmed shorter too for ease of planting.

Moderate lighting and CO₂ greatly enhances the growth. It is a heavy root feeder, so root tabs or rich aquasoil is helpful for stronger growth. It spreads via runners, and can be split and replanted when a dense clump has formed.
