Glossostigma Elatinoides - Plant

Glossostigma elatinoides is a classic and highly popular foreground plant used to create dense, vibrant green carpets in planted aquariums. Its small, rounded leaves grow close to the substrate, forming a lush lawn.

This plant thrives under high lighting and benefits significantly from CO₂ injection and nutrient-rich substrate, which encourage horizontal growth and compact form. Regular trimming helps maintain a low profile and prevents vertical growth.

Plant the stems in substrate but with enough distance between plants to allow the plant to grow without shading each other. High light, rich and stable nutrients and CO2 will enhance its red and purple tones.
