Description
Background

Homalomena sp. ‘Silver’ stands out for its subtle metallic sheen and textured leaves. The plant has a green base tone but it develops a silvery complexion with soft veining. Having such a unique appearance makes it particularly suited as a centrepiece for layouts.

It is somewhat similar to Anubias species with large leaves and rhizomes. Moderate lighting is enough for stable grown and no CO₂ is required. As with other aroid species, initial adaptation from emersed growth will occur over time. New submerged leaves will emerge suited to underwater conditions once the plant is stable.

Directions

Attach the plant to hardscape such as driftwood or rocks or plant in substrate, allowing the rhizome to be exposed to flowing water. This plant is well-suited for medium-light set ups and prefers not being shaded by other plants.

To propagate, cut the rhizome with at least three leaves and reattach it to hardscape.
