Description
Background

Ludwigia inclinata 'Dark Orange' is a rare aquatic plant with broad leaves that develop deep orange and red tones under strong lighting and CO₂ injection. It is similar in appearance to Hygrophila polysperma 'Rosanervig' due to the prominent veins that run through the leaves.

The plant grows upright with leaves arranged in pairs that alternate along the stem. Growth is moderate and responds well to regular trimming, which encourages bushier growth and improved colour consistency. It is slower growing than other Ludwigia species and therefore can be maintained at shorter heights.

Directions

Plant the stems in small groups to create a bushy effect in the tank. High lighting, consistent CO₂, and balanced fertilisation is recommended. Sudden changes in parameters often result in leaf loss or pale growth. This plant is commonly placed in the midground to background as a colour accent.

Cut healthy tops and replant, and lower nodes will sprout side shoots readily. Regular topping and replanting maintains bushy form and prevents legginess.
